[ literati? glitterati? ]

The fact that you are viewing this page suggests that either you are inclined towards the literary or may be interested in learning more about cosmetic surgery. Be forewarned that what you will find here is vastly different from the offerings of other plastic surgeons, their professional associations, or plastic surgery marketing groups.

Specifically, this site does not highlight a particular surgeon's skills and tell you why he or she is the only surgeon for you. It will not try to coax you into having surgery. It does not play down the gravity of the risks of going under the knife.

On the other hand, none of this should be taken to indicate a negative bias with respect to plastic surgery in general. Far from it. I'm a big fan of plastic surgery and for good reason:

I earn my living entirely from operating on people who pay me to make them look better and not at all from posting free online stories.

Still, the web's overly abundant hype on the subject seems to scream out for some semblance of balance.

So, rest assured that the stories here are not empty-headed cheerleading for the profession but rather compact explorations of (sometimes exaggerated) scenarios intended to entertain while also provoking serious thought and sharing a little insider perspective.

One last thing. If you happen to be a member of the first group mentioned above (a devoted literati who could care less about his or her appearance), try to appreciate the stories for their creativity and craft. They are unlike most others you will encounter either online or in print.
